My journey with St John began in 1998, and over the past 28 years I have been fortunate to serve in a variety of finance roles that have allowed me to contribute to an organisation whose mission I deeply value. In 2018, I was honoured to become a Member of the Order of St John, a recognition that means a great deal to me and reflects my longstanding commitment to St John and the communities we serve.
Today, I work as the Finance Manager for the National Product Sourcing Unit (NPSU) at the St John Australia Office. The NPSU plays an important role in supporting St John branches across Australia, St John PNG, and international St John organisations by supplying defibrillators, first aid kits, and essential first aid components.
My role is varied and rewarding. I oversee client billing, financial reporting, reconciliations, cash flow management, budgeting, rebates, foreign currency transactions, financial audits, stocktakes, financial analysis, and the overall finance function within the NPSU.
For me, working as a Finance Manager at St John is about far more than numbers and reports. It provides an opportunity to combine my financial experience with meaningful community impact. I am motivated by the knowledge that the work I do supports an organisation that plays such an important role in emergency response, first aid training, and community health across Australia.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is knowing that sound financial management helps maximise resources within a not-for-profit environment. Every strategy, process, and improvement contributes to supporting St John branches and enabling our volunteers and frontline services to continue their vital work in communities across Australia and beyond.
Being able to combine professional expertise with a genuine sense of purpose has made my career with St John incredibly fulfilling. I am proud to have spent nearly three decades supporting an organisation that helps people in times of need and makes a lasting difference in the lives of so many.
