I joined St John as a cadet on 10 December 2001, beginning a journey that has become an important part of my life. Over the years, I progressed through a variety of roles and had the privilege of serving as Divisional Manager of the Dromana Secondary Youth Division until 2024, when I joined the State Awards and Recognition Team.
Throughout my time with St John, I have always been driven by a desire to support others. Whether mentoring youth members, assisting adult volunteers, or delivering training to help members maintain their skills and scope of practice. I have found great satisfaction in helping people grow in confidence and achieve their potential. Supporting others is one of the most rewarding aspects of my service.
Outside St John, I am a Registered Nurse and work as an Adolescent Health Nurse in the Secondary School Nurses Program with the Department of Education to help educate and improve health outcomes for young people. These roles complement my commitment to learning, development, and the wellbeing of others, values that have guided me throughout both my professional and volunteer careers.
St John has provided me with countless opportunities to contribute, learn, and connect with people from all walks of life. I have always tried to lead through service, putting others first and offering support whenever it is needed. Whether providing education, mentoring a member, or simply being there to help, I believe that small acts of kindness and encouragement can make a lasting difference.
Looking back on more than two decades of involvement with St John, I am proud of the role I have played in supporting our members and helping foster the next generation of volunteers and leaders. I hope my story demonstrates the value of commitment, compassion, and service, and encourages others to embrace opportunities to support and inspire those around them.
