Our strong network
St John in Australia is a national network within a highly collaborative, federated structure.
St John has a presence in every State and Territory, with each St John entity operating as a separate but connected organisation. The St John family includes 11,100 volunteers, more than 5,200 professional staff, and over 2,400 members.
Together, we are prepared to help–supporting over 3.3 Million Australians each year.

The St John Australian Office Team
St John Ambulance Australia has a head office based in Canberra, a National Product Sourcing Unit in Sydney, and various satellite teams.
In total, this team includes 37 professional staff and six volunteers, dedicated to supporting the St John network, and its people, programs, products and services for positive impact in our communities.
This includes the following teams and functions:

Brendan Maher
National CEO
Operations and National Training
This team is led by a Chief Operating Officer and supports commercial operations and standards, national training, clinical governance, policy, and finance and audit functions. It further leads in strategic product and business decision making.
Executive and Priory
This team is led by a Manager of Executive and Priory and provides support to the CEO and Board, and delivers office management and human resources administration whist overseeing the Priory Honors and Awards system and functions relating to St John International.
National Brand and Communications
This team provides custodianship and advocacy of the St John brand in Australia, whilst delivering a number of portfolio services such as brand management, marketing, media, communications, and stakeholder relations.
National Product Sourcing Unit
This strategic business unit is based in Sydney and drives the commercial product and social enterprise functions of St John. This includes innovation, supply chain management, warehousing, logistics, accounts and sales relating to high quality first aid, health and medical supplies.
Information and Digital
With oversight from a Chief Information Officer this team operates as both a strategic business unit and an Australian Office ICT function. The team is comprised of staff working on digital transformation projects, ICT service delivery, and e-Learning products.
National Partnerships and Strategic Programs
This function at St John provides strategy and oversight for a number of national initiatives that support the growth, innovation and sustainability of St John. This includes management of strategic brand partnerships, fundraising, and programs including the National Youth Program, and Ophthalmic Program.
