FAQ
Why would I choose to do a nationally accredited first aid course?
How do I know my first aid training course is accredited?

I have a disability, medical condition, or other support needs. Can St John help me participate in training?
St John is committed to supporting all learners and will do our best to meet individual needs. If you have a disability, medical condition, or other support requirements, please contact your local state or territory training team when booking. They will discuss what support or reasonable adjustments can be provided to help you participate in training.
Some courses include practical assessments—such as CPR—that have specific requirements set by national training standards. While reasonable adjustments can be made to support your learning, they cannot change the core assessment requirements. For example, HLTAID competency standards require a certain level of physical ability to demonstrate CPR and other emergency responses to ensure you can perform these skills in real-life situations.
If you are unable to complete all assessment tasks, you are still welcome to attend the course for learning purposes. In this case, a Statement of Attendance will be issued instead of a Statement of Attainment.
What if I arrive late to my class?
How do I reschedule my training?
What is USI and do I need one?
What is your Training Cancellation and Refunds Policy?
Our Training Cancellation and Refunds Policy outlines the conditions for cancelling, rescheduling, and requesting a refund. Fees may apply depending on the notice period provided. For full details, please contact your local state or territory training team. Contact details are provided below.
What should I do if I can’t find my enrolment confirmation email?
How long is my CPR and First Aid certification valid?
St John Ambulance advises, in accordance with The Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: First Aid in the Workplace and the guidelines of the Australian Resuscitation Council, first aid skills are renewed every 3 years and resuscitation skills are renewed every 12 months.
English is my second language, will this be a problem?
Please contact your local state or territory training team ahead of time if you have any language concerns and we will accommodate you. If you are concerned about your English language skills, we recommend you attend a course that doesn’t have a component of eLearning before the course. Your trainer will be able to provide you with extra time to complete the requirements of the course
