Hydration Deserves More Hype
We know hydration might sound basic, and you might be asking why St John is focusing on this? But it is an all too often overlooked part of health and first aid. In fact, 4 in 5 Australians aren’t meeting their recommended daily fluid intake* (that’s over 17 million Aussies). Even mild dehydration can affect concentration, mood, and physical performance. Add in summertime with heatwaves, or days spent at festivals, sporting events, or out in the sun, and that risk increases significantly.

But we aren’t here to scare you. Our partnership with Hydralyte is one of good vibes, solid facts, and a way to give yourself a little boost in electrolytes.

While water should always be the first step in preventing dehydration, oral rehydration solutions like Hydralyte are scientifically formulated to replace fluids and electrolytes more effectively when dehydration happens.

In every State and Territory, St John volunteers and staff provide care to their communities. For our teams working on the ground, having access to these products adds another layer of care. Our partnership with Hydralyte helps ensure our teams are better equipped to respond to dehydration and other heat-related presentations, whether it’s at a summer festival, a sporting event, a Night Crew, or during an emergency.

Together, we’re also working to increase public awareness about the importance of hydration, empowering Australians to recognise the early signs of dehydration, and act sooner.
