Volunteering with St John

At St John, we believe in being stronger and better together, and that communities and individuals benefit from the tremendous talents, skills and efforts of volunteers.

St John volunteers

St John volunteers come from all walks of life and professions. Their locations, ages and genders are diverse. Every minute, of every day, St John volunteers are pulling up their sleeves to make a big impact in their communities.

Volunteering roles at St John

St John has people volunteering across many vocations, offering a range of unique skills. 

This includes people from medical or health related professions such as paramedicine, emergency services and nursing, to generalist first aiders, trainers and educators, and roles behind the scenes.

Volunteering for young people

St John offers a range of Youth Program opportunities through its St John Juniors, Youth and Cadets programs.

St John delivers a National Youth Program in collaboration with all states and territories. This program engages children and young people in Juniors, Youth (Cadets and Academy) programs that develop a sense of citizenship, build leadership skills, promote volunteerism, improve self-esteem and wellbeing, and build on first aid skills for life.
