A Reputation Built on Trust and Community Impact
St John Ambulance Australia has again been recognised as one of Australia’s most trusted and iconic charities - achieving a ‘top 5’ position in the latest release of RepTrak’s Benchmark 40, charity list. This independent annual research measures 40 of Australia’s largest and most well-known charities on reputation, across a range of key touchpoints and drivers.
St John has consistently been ranked exceptionally year-on-year, thanks to its significant touchpoints with the community, excellence in reputation, and its high quality, purpose-driven services and programs.
This year has seen significant reputational benefit garnered from those that have interacted with St John (or those know someone who has). This suggests that people who have come into contact with St John were highly impressed by their interactions - be it by utilising our diverse services, seeing us in action at events, or receiving information via online channels, such as social media. These engagements delivered St John a near-perfect reputation score out of 100.
Over 90 per cent of participants also noted that they would positively welcome St John into their communities, and 89 per cent would go on to say something positive about St John to others. These results speak to the reach and positive impact of St John across all States and Territories in Australia.
Nationally, St John supports upward of 3.3 million people per annum - connecting communities, empowering people with knowledge and skills, and saving lives.
St John Ambulance Australia CEO, Brendan Maher welcomed the latest results by saying, “Our spot as one of Australia’s most trusted and respected charities is testament to our people. It speaks to the commitment of our volunteers and staff who are here to help.”
“We also want to make mention of everyone in our community who connects with St John. The people and organisations who participate in our programs, utilise our services, buy our products, or offer their support. These choices make us proud to be an iconic Australian charity with a long history, and a bright future,” said Mr Maher.
St John’s network includes 11,100 volunteers, 5,281 staff, 2,481 members, and 1,956 youth and cadets. Together, this forms one of Australia’s largest, mobile charity workforces. These people are highly recognisable and trusted in our communities. Together, they are prepared to help.
