St John Ambulance Queensland appoints new Chief Executive Officer

Mr Alex Hutton has been appointed as the new the CEO of St John Ambulance (Qld). Mr Hutton will commence duties as CEO on 4 January 2016.

It gives me great pleasure on behalf of fellow Directors to advise that the Board has appointed Mr Alex Hutton of Brisbane as the CEO of St John Ambulance (Qld). Mr Hutton will commence duties as CEO on 4 January 2016.

The Board has undertaken a comprehensive search and a very considered, careful evaluation of a pool of highly qualified and suitable candidates in making the appointment of the CEO. I acknowledge that it has taken a period of time to make this appointment but the Board feels that the time taken has contributed to the very best outcome for St John in Queensland.

Alex Hutton comes to St John highly qualified for the CEO appointment with a Bachelor of Economics and Master of Business Administration and brings a wealth of experience as a company director across both for-profit and non-profit organisations, along with diverse executive level management experience which has enabled him to consistently demonstrate a strong, unblemished record of quietly and effectively delivering the outcomes required of his appointments.

On a personal leadership level, members will find Alex to be a far-sighted, financially astute commercial professional but with an abiding concern for the welfare and morale of the people affected by his work. I and the Board are very satisfied that Alex’s unique blend of commercial leadership and compassion for the care of the members, staff and our clients and customers, combine to make his appointment as CEO at this time, a strong investment in the future growth and success of St John in Queensland.
